Gov. doesn’t have to Recognize Supreme Court on Gay Marriage Ruling Loon In a recent (May 2015) appearance on the Newsmax TV comedy hour, Dr. Ben Carson stated that the federal government is not required to recognize any Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage because the President is only obligated to recognize laws passed by congress, not judicial rulings (Brain Tashman) Benny the Loon went on to say:
It is patently clear that Benny is totally ignorant of how the Supreme Court operates. For one thing, the Court does not “make laws, ´they merely determine whether a law is constitutional.
Moreover, no President, regardless of his/her party affiliation has the lawful right to ignore a ruling wherein the Court rules that a law is unconstitutional. Most high school graduates are aware of this undeniable fact.
Anyone who is this ignorant or who is willing to feign such ignorance of how the Court operates has forever forfeited his/her right to be President.
