Attorney David Vis of Bellingham, WA; ethical dwarf

The state of Washington presented David E. Vis with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of South Dakota Law School.

The Washington State Bar found Dave guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to write to bank re: foreclosure on clients’ behalf as promised
• Never filed answer to lawsuit filed against clients
• Failed to advise clients of hearing on creditor motion
• Failed to provide documentary evidence to client’s re: money owed to creditor
• Failed to notify client re: creditor motion for default judgment
• Failed to appear at court-schedule hearing on behalf of clients
• Gross negligence led to default judgment of $22,437 being granted v. clients
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to keep clients informed of status of legal matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2017), Dave practices with Bentley Gallery & Vis at 805 Dupont Street in Bellingham, Washington.
