Attorney Anthony Avery of Knoxville; serial offender

 

The state of Tennessee provided Anthony Marvin Avery with a law license in 1988.

 

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Tony guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Tony’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Failed to timely file answer to divorce complaint
  • Failed to appear at two pre-trial conferences
  • Courtroom demeanor was “brazen and slovenly”
  • Neglected client’s divorce case

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

 

Tony’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

In one matter, Tony represented a client in a fraud and forgery lawsuit. The Chancery Court judge issued Rule 11 sanctions against Tony due to the fact that he handled the matter without adequate preparation when the complaint was filed.

 

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

 

Tony’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Found in contempt for failing to comply with court procedures
  • Found in contempt for failing to abide by court order in protection matter

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary censure, which was his third.
