The state of Kansas presented Frederick Bruce Campbell with a law license in 1998.
Freddy’s misconduct took place while he was employed as Anderson County attorney and involved sexually explicit photos of minors who were attending a party. One minor girl, who had drunk about six beers, was photographed by other partygoers while she had sexual intercourse with a foreign exchange student. The amateur photographers also recorded minors drinking beer at the party.
After being provided with the photos taken at the party, as county attorney, Freddy declined to prosecute anyone for underage drinking, etc. However, he did let it be known that he intended on showing the photographs to the parents of minors who had attended the party.
At least one parent contacted Freddy and told him he didn’t have her permission to show photos of her minor daughter to others. Freddy responded by saying he didn’t need her permission. Shortly thereafter, Arrogant Freddy proceeded to show the photos to several parents of minors who attended the party.
The disciplinary panel then ruled that Freddy’s conduct constituted:
As a consequence of his misconduct the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme court punished Freddy by gifting him with a complimentary six-month suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. April 2012) Freddy continues to be employed as the Anderson County Attorney in Garnett, Kansas, which is about 75 miles south of Topeka.
