Attorney Cass Casper of Chicago, IL; cheating slacker

The state of Illinois presented Cass Thomas Casper with a law license in 2010 after he graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law.

The Disciplinary Commission found Cass guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to appropriately pursue two criminal appeals
• Failed to pursue client’s employment matter
• Refused to refund $1,000 in unearned fees (cheater)
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Justin!)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Filed a sworn declaration falsely [perjury] claiming that they were accurate, with the court

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Cass by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

And lastly, because Attorney Misfits in Illinois are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Cass we never criminally charged with perjury.
