Attorney Randall Cavanaugh of Anchorage; moron, repeat offender

The state of Alaska presented Randall S. Cavanaugh with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Randy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to serve client lawsuit on named defendants
  • Failed to respond to numerous status requests
  • Gross negligence led to client case being dismissed for lack of prosecution
  • Failed to respond to client question re: appealing matter to Alaska Supreme Court
  • Failed to advise client that trial court entered summary judgment against her
  • Gross negligence led to client loss of right to appeal lower court ruling
  • Failed to provide competent representation [moron]
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to act with due diligence [slacker]
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client interest upon termination
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators [Screw you, said Randy!)
  • Filed third-party cross-complaint against a defendant but never had it served on the defendant
  • Gross negligence in failing to comply with court orders regarding service of a complaint on a defendant, the trial court entered a $6,000 default judgment against Randy’s client [victim]
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Randy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonishment for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Alaska Supreme Court punished Randy by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Randy’s self-serving website at www.kalamarides.com makes no mention of his misconduct as set forth above. Apparently, the firm decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients so as to not limit its future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. June 2019), Randy practices with Kalamarides & Lambert at 750 West 2nd Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska.
