Attorney Bernard Welch Jr. of Boise; ethical gremlin

The state of Vermont presented Bernard Joseph Welch Jr. with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Idaho Law School.

The Idaho Bar Counsel found Bernie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to advise client of rate or basis for his claimed fee
• Improperly shared fees with lawyers not in the same firm
• Improperly withdrew claimed fees from minor child’s trust account
• Court ordered Bernie to refund the improperly withdrawn fees to the child’s account

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Idaho Supreme Court punished Bernie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2014) Bernie practices in the Boise, Idaho area.
