Attorney Jonathan MacArthur of Las Vegas; ethical gremlin

The State of Nevada presented Jonathan E. MacArthur with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from Washington & Lee University Law School.

The Nevada State Bar found Jon guilty of the following misconduct.

While employed as a defense lawyer running for a judgeship in North Las Vegas, Jon attempted to bribe a witness to change his testimony in a criminal case.

The reprimand came about after the Clark County DA’s office sought to remove Jon from defending a man in a kidnapping, robbery and battery case.

The DA’s office alleged that Jon told the victim the defendant's parents would pay restitution if the victim changed his testimony.

Subsequently, Jon admitted to the restitution offer and withdrew from the case.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Jon by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2014) Jon practices at 201 Las Vegas Blvd South in Las Vegas, Nevada.
