Attorney Walter Calinger of Omaha; deadbeat loser

The state of Nebraska presented Walter M. Calinger with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel found Walt guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Repeatedly neglected client matters
  • Failed to act with due diligence
  • Failed to cooperate with disciplinary investigators (Up Yours, said Walt!)

In one matter, a former client successfully sued Walt for legal malpractice and won a default judgment against him. However, she wasn’t able to serve the claim on Walt in time because he had left the country and she could not locate him.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nebraska Supreme Court punished Walt by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014), Walt practices in the Omaha area.

Warning: Walter does not carry legal malpractice insurance
