Attorney Michael Eberhardt of Suffolk, VA; ethical gremlin

The state of Virginia presented Michael Dana Eberhardt with a law license in 1986 after from the University of Richmond Law School.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to respond to repeated calls from client (victim)
  3. Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  4. Failed to communicate with client
  5. Faield to cooperate with disciplinary authorities (Up Yours, said Mike!)

In one matter, Mike accepted a $2,500 fee to represent a disabled client in a divorce. Following a Commissioners hearing several months later, Mike took no further action in the case.

The client and his sister tried to contact Mike on several occasions, but he never returned their calls. As a consequence, the client cont acted that state bar.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Mike by giving him with a second complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. Jan 2014), Mike practices at 214 Market Street in Suffolk, Virgina.
