Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) apologizes to BP’s CEO Tony Hayward

After president Obama was able to get BP to set aside a $20 billion fund to compensate the victims of its massive oil spill in the Gulf, Rep. Joe Barton had the audacity to state that he was “ashamed of what happened.” He then accused the White House of conducting a “$20 billion shakedown” by requiring BP to establish a fund to compensate those hurt by the spill.

Can there be any dispute that Rep. Joe Barton is now and has been for many, many years the chief bootlicker and ass-kisser for the likes of BP, Shell, Chevron and Exxon-Mobil?

In an effort to forever cement his status as big oil’s primary enabler/apologist, and in inept attempt at levity, Rep. Joe Barton then apologized to BP by saying, “I apologize. I do not want to live in a country where any time a citizen or a corporation does something that is legitimately wrong is subject to some sort of political pressure that is – again, in my words, amounts to a shakedown. So I apologize.”

Hell Joe, if ya don’t wanna live in this country, how about moving your sorry ass to North Korea. Hear tell Kim Dae-Jung is always in need of an experienced and compliant ass-kisser and bootlicker. And if you can’t afford the airfare, I’ll pay for the flight!

Seemingly, Joe Barton would have no problems apologizing for or being ashamed if any of the following persons or industries were shake downed.
  • Jeffrey Dahmer for the financial losses incurred by local meat markets in Milwaukee (hear tell Jeff's rump roast was to die for!)
  • Catholic Diocese in Boston or LA for damages suffered by victims of pedophile priests
  • High-priced hookers for over-billing ex-NY Gov. Eliot Spitzer
Apparently, Joe Barton believes that the taxpayers (exceptions for Texans) should pickup the tab for the $20 billion compensation fund. I’m pretty sure that Ol’ Joe would support legislation that would specifically target the citizens of California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. Since these states are dominated by liberals, they deserve a good ol’ screwing, right Joey Baby?

I certainly hope that Rep. Joe Barton was successful in being reimbursed by BP and/or Shell for the costs he incurred in being fitted for and purchasing a pair of industrial strength knee pads.

After discussing Joe’s asinine conduct with a couple of friends from El Paso and Brownsville, they both commented by saying, “That guy’s one big dumb som-bitch.”

And lastly when I discussed Joe’s hyperbolic (BS) comments with Mabel who lives in Gulf Shores, Alabama she was extremely upset. Rather than providing me with any commentary, Mabel sent me a photo of her anger as shown below. Goshes and Gollies and Gee Whillickers, Ol’ Mabel is one unhappy senior citizen, right?
