Elisa Chan: Today’s “Homophobe” Award Winner
Elisa succeeded in duping the voters in San Antonio into electing her as a member of the San Antonio City Council in May 2009.
Elisa was unsuccessful in remaining in the closet in regards to being a die-in-the-wool Homophobe.
Unbeknownst to Elisa, James Stevens, a 28-year-old aide to Lisa, secretly recorded a May 21 meeting in Lisa’s city hall office to discuss an upcoming nondiscrimination ordinance. The recording clearly shows that the focus of the meeting wound up being less about politics and more about personal, derogatory views of homosexuality, expressed by Elisa and members of her staff.
The ordinance under discussion was an anti-discrimination ordinance that would prohibit discrimination based on veteran status, sexual orientation, and gender identity for city positions or jobs contracted with the city.
The recording shows the group of Homophobes discussing things like how the legalization of same-sex marriage could lead to the legalization of incest or beastiality. Elisa can be heard on the tape calling homosexuality and other “non-traditional” preferences “disgusting to even think about.”
The Homophobe went on to say that being a Bigot is a “behavioral preference,” I’m sorry I mean being gay is a “behavioral preference.”
It seems to me that it would be much more fruitful and equitable if the San Antonio City Council voted to make it unlawful for anyone to become council member if his/her I.Q. doesn’t surpass the legal speed limit in a school zone.
Congrats Elisa; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Admired “Homophobes”; you are far too humble.
