Attorney Michael Fasano of Manassas, VA; lying loser

The state of Virginia presented Michael Christopher Fasano with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from Fordham University Law School.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Michael guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation’
  2. Knowingly assisted another in violating the disciplinary rules
  3. Committed a criminal act or wrongful act adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  4. Knowingly made a false statement of fact
Michael was employed by Olmstead & Olmstead as an associate attorney and was to be paid a percentage of the fees that he generated on behalf of the firm.

The Olmstead firm subsequently discovered that Michael was taking fees and representing some clients without tendering any of those fees to the law firm. In one instance, Michael advised a client to pay him in cash “under the table” in order to cheat the firm out of the fees.

Michael admitted that he accepted cash for fees from at least ten (10) clients ranging from $1,000 to $250 to $500 for a total of $4,800 over a nine month period of time.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Michael’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously disciplined for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

Because Attorney Misfits in Virginia are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Michael was never criminally charged for grand theft or fraud.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Michael by giving him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2013), Michael practices with The Fasano Law Offices, PC at 9244-B Mosby Street in Manassas, Virginia.
