Attorney David Stimpson of Tecumseh, MI; ethical leprechaun
The state of Michigan presented David M. Stimpson with a law license in 2002.
The Michigan Attorney Disciplinary Board found David guilty of engaging in the following misconduct
Dr. Richard Zarbo, chairman of the pathology department at Henry Ford Hospital hired David to begin divorce proceedings against his wife, Alicia Zarbo. Alicia had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), and with MS-related cognitive deficits. Subsequently, Dr. Zarbo faxed a medical report to David stating that Alicia had “difficulties with memory” and was her “ability to manage complicated t asks and to make decisions is probably impaired. The report closed by recommending that Alicia “consider obtaining legal guardianship or power of attorney to help her manage her financial and medical affairs.”
Within a week after receiving the faxed report from Dr. Zarbo, David personally served Alicia at her home with the Verified Complaint for Divorce and Notice of Order fro Mediation.
Five days later, David returned to Alicia’s home and had her sign the following documents
Later on the same day, Alicia’s brother arrived and took her to a prearranged appointment with divorce attorney Monica Sacks. Subsequently, Ms. Sacks represented Alicia and another attorney (not David) represented Dr. Zarbo, and the divorce was resolved on terms other than those set forth in the sham documents authored by David.
It takes a special kind of despot to knowingly take advantage of someone suffering from MS as did Alicia. What a despicable individual!
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Attorney Disciplinary Board punished David by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. October 2012) David practices with the Law Offices of David M. Stimpson & Associates PC at 108 West Chicago Blvd. in Tecumseh, Michigan.
