Attorney Thomas Discon of Mandeville, LA; unethical Dufus
The state of Louisiana presented Thomas M. Discon with a law license in 1984.
The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Thomas guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Felix relied on the false representations of his client, and failed to verify the identity of the persons who appeared before him for the purpose of executing a notary. Put simply, Felix displayed a total lack of concern as to his duty to assure that the persons who appeared before him to have a document notarized were actually who they claimed to be. What a loser!
In one matter, Thomas found it acceptable to obtain and confirm a default judgment on behalf of a client even though he absolutely knew that the defendant was represented by an attorney in identical litigation in another court. Put simply, Thomas knowingly violated the defendant’s constitutional right to due process.
Apparently Thomas is of the opinion that “due process” is the means by which the grass becomes moist in the a.m.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Thomas by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. October 2012) Thomas practices with the Discon Law Firm at 424 North Causeway Blvd. in Mandeville, Louisiana.
