Is Natalie Harp Great Leader's Biggest Fan?
Before we begin, let me make one thing perfectly clear.
I have absolutely no idea whether Natalie Harp and Great Leader are romantically involved.
None.
Zero.
Not a shred of evidence.
And in today's political environment, that's a disappointing lack of evidence. Americans have become spoiled. We now expect at least three anonymous sources, two blurry photographs, and one guy named Earl claiming he saw them together at an airport Chili's.
Unfortunately, there is nothing.
What we do know is that Natalie appears to admire Great Leader with an enthusiasm normally associated with teenagers at a Taylor Swift concert.
And that's where things become interesting.
Natalie attended not one but two Christian universities. Given that background, one assumes she spent at least a little time studying humility, modesty, virtue, and possibly the dangers of putting any human being on too high a pedestal.
Unfortunately, if Great Leader is the pedestal, the thing is now about six stories tall.
Watching Natalie praise Great Leader is like watching an Olympic event.
The rest of us are merely spectators.
If Great Leader announced tomorrow that he had personally invented electricity, Natalie would likely praise his commitment to innovation.
Benjamin Franklin would immediately sit up in his grave and demand a recount.
If Great Leader claimed he personally discovered gravity, Natalie would applaud his contributions to physics.
Isaac Newton would throw an apple at somebody.
The remarkable thing isn't that Natalie supports him.
Millions of people support politicians.
The remarkable thing is the level of enthusiasm.
Most political supporters carry campaign signs.
Natalie looks like she would carry the entire campaign headquarters if asked.
Now, naturally, this raises questions.
Not reasonable questions.
Internet questions.
Those are entirely different.
The internet sees two people appearing together frequently and immediately concludes one of three things:
They're secretly dating. They're plotting world domination. They're secretly dating while plotting world domination.
There are no other options.
The internet has spoken.
Meanwhile, Melania remains the most mysterious figure in the entire story.
For all we know, she pays no attention whatsoever.
Or perhaps she watches the endless praise and occasionally mutters:
"Good luck with that."
Frankly, that's probably healthier than spending time on social media.
The real mystery isn't whether Natalie and Great Leader are having an affair.
The real mystery is whether Natalie has ever disagreed with him.
Even once.
About anything.
Ever.
Maybe she has.
Maybe there was a dramatic confrontation.
Perhaps Great Leader declared vanilla to be the world's greatest ice cream flavor.
And Natalie boldly responded:
"Sir, with all due respect, it might be chocolate."
Then again, probably not.
In the end, I suspect the truth is much less exciting than the rumor mills would like.
There may be no romance.
No secret rendezvous.
No scandal.
No dramatic revelation.
Instead, we may simply be witnessing one of history's most enthusiastic examples of political admiration.
Which, let's be honest, is almost as entertaining.
Because while affairs come and go, finding someone who agrees with nearly everything you say is so rare that scientists should probably study it.
Somewhere in Washington, researchers are already preparing grant applications.
And Great Leader, no doubt, is taking full credit for the discovery. |
