The Table set forth herein clearly and unambiguously establishes that from 2023 to early 2026 that Gov. Abbott’s campaign violated TEC reporting rules forty-four (44) times in an amount totaling $9,458.50. Below the Table are specific descriptions that Abbott’s campaign submitted in its campaign expense reports.

The detail required by the Texas Ethics Commission for officeholder lodging expenses is set forth below.

(a) officeholders in Texas must ensure travel and lodging expenses are reasonable, necessary, and properly documented according to Texas Ethics Commission guidelines, (b) the travel must be for official duties, such as attending conferences, fact-finding trips, or meetings where the officeholder renders services that are more than merely perfunctory, and (c) must include a brief description of the activity that the lodging supports. Simply stating “hotel” or “lodging” is insufficient.

Abbott's conduct allows him to keep it a "secret" as to the venue he visited and the purpose from any prying eyes in Texas and elsewhere. I suppose the real question here, is what is Abbott hiding.

To be excruciatingly fair to Greg because that's the kind of guy I am, he’s not in "a league of his own” when it comes to concealing details of contributor donations. His bosom buddy in this regard is none other than Sen. John Cornyn. If interested you can view Johnny’s rather questionable gift giving by clicking onto the URL below. If you’re adverse to clicking onto a URL then go to www.noethics.net where the article can be found on the front page.
