Sen. John Cornyn: Texas’ All-time Award-Winning Gift Giver
After a review of the facts below I’m somewhat confident that you’ll be absolutely taken aback at the heartfelt generosity that Johnny has displayed while engaged in exercising his sound judgment in selecting the appropriate gifts.
In fact, the “sound judgment” that Greg exhibited in his gift giving choices, is kind of what y’all would expect from a former Attorney General and Justice of the Texas Supreme Court, right? Yes Siree, I just had a feeling that y’all would be in total agreement with me.
FYI: This is the same shameless spendthrift that had absolutely no qualms about spending $40,627.92 of contributor funds to have an oil portrait done of him. He then had the audacity to spend nearly $1,000 to hold a reception to dedicate his portrait.
For your viewing pleasure, I now present you with the very distinctive and as you’ll see, Johnny’s reasonably priced gifts.
Johnny decided that none of his campaign contributors, especially the blue-collar type working class that contributed less than $50 were entitled to know who the person was that he spent over
Ben Silver is to say the least an “upscale” super expensive retailer that sells a variety of clothing, examples of which are as follows.
Lady’s Products
Men’s Products
Hey fellas, let’s be honest here for a moment, Okay? I bet you guys working at the GM plant in Arlington, are all excited and ready to do some serious shopping online at Ben Silver for your wife and when time permits, some serious in-person shopping at Tiffany’s at the Galleria in Houston.
Johnny’s campaign report doesn’t disclose the name of the person receiving the $7,727.00 gift from Tiffany’s. At today’s prices, the same gift would cost in excess of $14,000.00. Making matters even more questionable, is the fact that Johnny did not disclose the “gender” of this clearly magnificent gift recipient.
I believe that it goes without saying, that inquiring minds would damn sure like to know who in the hell received this $7,700 piece of jewelry, right?
And lastly, at the same time when Johnny spent $17,700 on one gift, a worker at McDonald’s in Houston was earning $7.72 an hour. If he/she worked a 40-hour week for the whole year, they would have earned $16,058.60. Therefore, Johnny’s $17,700 and $7,727 gifts respectively, represented over one-years earnings and nearly half respectively for said worker.
Suffice it to say that anyone that gets their hands or clothing dirty while working a job in Texas damn sure isn’t spending their time shopping at Tiffany’s to buy a gift for their wife or a daughter. However, to be fair to Johnny Wannabees, it may well be acceptable if the gift is for a secret paramour (lover kept hidden from spouse).
And lastly, why would Johnny even give a damn how much his singular gifts costs. He didn’t pay for them, his contributors did. In truth, Johnny was and is living large on everyone else’s dime.
