Attorney Naira Soifer of Brunswick, ME; ethical misfit

The state of Pennsylvania provided Naira Soifer with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from Boston College School of Law.

The Maine Board of Bar Overseers found Naira guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which related to her being assigned as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in a child protective case.

  • Naira failed perform her work promptly as a GAL
  • Violated the GAL Rules or an appointment order
  • Failed to submit a required Compliance Report
  • Failed to file the GAL report in a timely manner
  • Failed to comply with court orders (Up yours, said Naira!)
  • Compromised the integrity of the GAL process and the representation of the child’s best interests

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court punished Naira by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2024) Naira practices her so-called brand of law at 14 Middle Street in Brunswick, Maine.
