Judge Laura Viar of Council Grove, KS; ethical goblin

The State of Kansas presented Laura Cole with a law license in 2003  after she graduated from Washburn University Law School.

FYI: Laura has been arrested at least two times for driving under the influence (DUI).

The Kansas Commission on Judicial Conduct found Laura guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Issued a search warrant to seize cellphones, computers and other equipment from the Marion County Record newspaper
• Said warrant  was deemed to be unconstitutional and a blatant violation of the First Amendment
• Laura’s illegal search warrant came about after the newspaper reported on her two DUI convictions
• Laura justified her illegal search warrant by falsely citing a criminal investigation into “identity theft “
• Laura’s DUI convictions were a matter of public record, therefore her attempt to have the paper criminally prosecuted was a total sham

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Laura by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. October 2024), Laura continues to dispense her so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Judge in Council Grove, Kansas.
