Attorney Imtiyaz Mahida of Japan; deadbeat loser

The state of New York presented Imtiyaz A. Mahida with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from Columbia University School of Law.

The First Department Grievance Committee found Imtiyaz guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to comply with mandatory biennial attorney registration
• Failed to pay biennial attorney registration fee of $375 (a measely $187.50 a year)
• Eddy failed to pay register and pay the mandatory fee even after he was notified and given an opportunity to cure his default

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Imtiyaz by gifting him with a complimentary 75-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2024), Imtiyaz practices his so-called brand of law with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP at 2-17-22 Akasaka Main Tower in Tokyo, Japan.
