Judge Peter Thompson of Phoenix, AZ; potty mouth dimwit

The state of Arizona presented Peter A. Thompson with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) School of Law.

FYI: Former Gov. Jan Brewer was duped into appointing Pete as a Maricopa County Superior Court Judge in 2010. Pete didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Phoenix area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct found Pete guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Used inappropriate and vulgar language in the courtroom and on a court pleading
• Issued an improper order that appeared to be a response to the city attorney’s legal opinion that the judge’s employment
• contract was invalid
• Filed a bar complaint against the city attorney that appeared to be  retaliatory
• Incorrectly documented that a defendant and the city attorney had entered into  a plea bargain and that the defendant was satisfied with her attorney’s services (Dimwit)
• Went to a defendant’s place of employment to discuss documentation of her guilty plea

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. April 2024), Pete dispenses his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Maricopa County Superior Court Judge in Phoenix, Arizona.
