Attorney Stephen Hayes of Augusta, ME; ethical misfit

The state of Maine presented Stephen T. Hayes with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Harvard University chool of Law

The Grievance Commission of the Maine Board of Bar Overseers found Stevie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which involved Patty’s conduct duringthe course of a post-divorce motion to change primaryresidence of minor children from their mother to their father.

FYI: This isn’t Stevie’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with clients concerning the status of an estate planning matter that he was representing them in
  • Failed to take reasonable measures to keep the clients informed on the complexity of the estate questions they had posed and the status of his ongoing research

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2024), Stevie practices his so-called brand of law at 11 Weston Street in Augusta, Maine.
