Former Judge Ellen Yacknin of Rochester, NY; ethical misfit

The state of New York provided Ellen Marie Yacknin with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from Cornell University School of Law.

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Ellen guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while she was employed as a Fallsburg Town Court Judge.

  • While a candidate for Supreme Court, Ellen personally solicited the support of two attorneys who were
  • in the courthouse and about to appear before her
  • Ellen issued and/or authorized campaign literature containing a misrepresentation
  • During course of her campaign Ellen communicated with between 100 and 130 attorneys asking for their support in the campaign

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Conduct Commission punished Ellen by gifting her with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. March 2024), Ellen practices her so-called brand of law with the Rochester City Court Hall of Justice at 90 Exchange Blvd in Rochester, New York.
