Attorney Arthur Alexion of Jersey City, New Jersey; moronic slacker

The state of New Jersey provided Arthur Alexion with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law. Arthur also obtained a law license to practice in Pennsylvania in 1982.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Art’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Art guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to account for the expenditure of client’s $1,500 retainer
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect the client’s interests upon termination of the representation
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Converted client funds to his personal use
  • Misapplied and/or misused approximately $1,000 in client trust funds
  • Misappropriated (stole) client funds
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in a gross neglect of a client matter
  • Failed to return the unearned portion of the retainer (cheater)
  • Wrote at least two checks on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Art by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

FYI: For the same misconduct set forth above, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania punished Art by ordering that he be disbarred.

As we speak (ca. January 2024), Art practices his so-called brand of law in Jersey City, New Jersey, which only establishes that if you’re going to engage in fraud and bounce checks, do it in New Jersey.
