Former Judge Raymond Barlaam of Mohegan Lake, NY; slacker, loser

The State of New York presented Raymond R. Barlaam with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the New York School of Law.

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Ray guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was a Justice of the Ossining Village Court in Westchester County.

Ray’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

  • Gave misleading testimony concerning his statement to the executor of an estate
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics committee (Screw you, said Ray!)
  • Failed to have will admitted to probate or otherwise finalize client estate

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Ray by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Ray’s 2nd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to schedule or reschedule trials in a timely manner in more than 500 traffic cases, resulting in lengthy delays
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Due to Ray’s gross negligence, over 500 traffic cases were no adjudicated for as long as five years and five months

As we speak (ca. November 2023), it is rumored that Ray has an application pending for a job as a bathroom attendant at the Walmart Supercenter Store 3133 East Main Street in Mohegan Lake, New York.
