Attorney Charles Tucker Jr. of Hyattsville, MD; slacker, loser

The state of Maryland presented Charles T. Tucker Jr. with a law license in 2008 after he graduated from St. John’s University of School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Charlie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate with his clients
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to recognize he was engaged in a conflict of interest
• Failed to take steps to protect his clients’ interests upon termination of the representation
• Failed to abide by the scope of representation
• Failed failing to communicate to his clients the scope of the representation and the basis or rate of the fee and expenses for which his clients would be responsible before or within a reasonable time after commencing the representation
• Failed to take steps to protect his clients’ interests upon termination of the representation
• Failed to adequately explain the scope of the representation and the terms of his retainer agreement to two clients
• Failed to adequately communicate with three clients about the status of their cases
• Upon being terminated Charlie failed to promptly provide two clients with accountings of their funds
• Failed to promptly refund one client the unearned portion of the fees the client had paid
• In an automobile accident matter, the Respondent agreed to represent both the driver and the passenger but failed to advise them that the joint representation created a conflict of interest and failed to obtain their informed consent, confirmed in writing, waiving the conflict

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme Court punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.  

And lastly, as one would suspect, Charlie fails to disclose the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.nbltop100.org/members/charles-tucker-jr/.com.  Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients to ensure he wouldn’t limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. October 2023), Charlie practices his so-called brand of law with the Tucker Moore Group at 8181 Professional Place in Hyattsville, Maryland.
