Attorney James Sweeting III of Baltimore, MD; ethical misfit

The state of Florida presented James Sweeting III with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Stetson University School of Law.

The State Bar of Florida found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed, upon receiving an order of suspension of his law license, to furnish a copy of the order to all of his clients with matters pending in his practice, all opposing counsel or co-counsel, and all courts, tribunals, or adjudicative agencies before which he is counsel of record
• Failed, within 30 days after service of the suspension order, to furnish Bar counsel with a sworn affidavit listing the names and addresses of all persons and entities that have been furnished copies of the order

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year term of probation.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Florida Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Jimmy.   

And lastly, as one would suspect, Jimmy fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.sweetinglaw.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. September 2022), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law with James Sweeting III LLLC at 2225 Saint Paul Street in Baltimore, Maryland.
