Attorney Robert Bachman of Las Vegas, NV; ethical troll

The state of Nevada presented Robert L. Bachman with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of California Davis School of Law.

The Nevada Disciplinary Board found Bobby guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Two clients suffered injury or potential injury by paying Bachman for legal services he never provided
• Knowingly failed to perform services for a client resulting in injury to the client
• Knowingly engaged in conduct that is a violation of a duty owed as a professional and causes injury or potential injury to a client, the public, or the legal system
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Victim of misconduct was vulnerable
• Knowingly violated duties owed to clients, the public, and to the legal system
• Allowed nonlawyers to meet with two of his clients and handle their cases
• Included in his retainer agreement with several clients that retainer deposits were nonrefundable, by including in the retainer that a company that was not a law firm would perform the services the clients hired him for
• Failed to communicate with the clients regarding the status of their cases

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law and assessed investigative costs of $2,500.00.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Bobby.
