Attorney Steven Szostek of Las Vegas, NV; slacker, repeat offender

 

The state of Nevada presented Steven J. Szostek with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the  University of Indian School of Law.

 

The Nevada Disciplinary Board found Stevie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

 

Stevie’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Knowingly failed to timely prove opposing counsel with discovery responses
  • Failure to provide discovery responses led to adverse adjudiciation of a landlord-tennant matter for his client
  • Provided misleading information to ethics investigators whether he submitted a claim to his malpractice carrier (Up yours, said Stevie!)
  • Conduct resulted in injury to his client and the profession

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 30-day suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $2,500.00.

 

Stevie was also ordered to pay restitution of $52,200.10 to his prior client [victim]

 

Stevie’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Failed to respond to client requests for updates regarding trust documents
  • Improperly shared legal fees related to client trust with a nonlawyer
  • Took more than three years to finalize client trust documents
  • Client suffered potential injury because of the delay in receiving the trust for which she had paid

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $2,500.00.

 

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Stevie practices his so-called brand of law with the Steven J. Szostek Esq. Law Firm at 7848 West Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas, Nevada.
