Attorney Carrie Hurtik of Las Vegas; ethical troll

The state of Nevada presented Carrie E. Hurtik with a law license in 1999 after she graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law.

The Nevada Disciplinary Board found Carrie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Inappropriately used client funds for payroll, personal expenses, office expenses, and loans
• Failed to keep client and trust account ledgers
• Failed to maintain adequate accounting practices
• Failed to maintain individual client ledgers
• Knowingly failing to properly preserve client property often corresponds with an actual suspension as discipline,
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with her client
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Knowingly engaged in conduct that violated duties owed to her clients and the legal system
• Improperly dealt with client property
• Conduct caused injury or potential injury to her client
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Issued checks from her client trust account to the operating account without identifying the purpose for the withdrawals

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Carrie by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of her law license and assessed investigative costs of $2,500.00.

Carrie was also ordered to pay $132,355.27 plus interest in restitution to her clients (victims).

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Carrie.

And lastly,as one would suspect, Carrie fails to mention the above misconduct on her self-serving website at www.hurtiklaw.com.  Apparently, she chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting her future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Carrie practices her so-called brand of law with Hurtik Law & Associates at 6767 West Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas, Nevada.
