Attorney Howard Benick of New York City; ethical elf

The state of New York presented Howard A. Benick with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the Brooklyn School of Law.

The Appellate Division Grievance Committee found Howie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to administration of justice
  • Engaged in adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to promptly return advance fee
  • Neglected client legal matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Howie by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2023), Howie practices his so-called brand of law at 31 West 34th Street in New York, New York.
