Attorney Cheryl Gill of La Crosse, WI; ethical troll

The state of Wisconsin presented Cheryl Marie Gill with a law license in 1997 after she graduated from Drake University School of Law.

FYI: This wasn’t Cheryl’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Cheryl guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• During a hearing in June 2021, Cheryl told the court that she would make “another appointment” to speak with the client, although she had made no previous appointments
• Failed to communicate with the client after Feb. 10, 2020
• Failed to respond to the client’s letters requesting information and documents
• Failed to communicate the plea offer and the state’s comments about the offer to the client
• Failed to take reasonable steps to advance the client’s interests
• Failed to send the client notice that she intended to file a motion to withdraw or a copy of the motion and by failing to provide the client with a copy of his file materials
• Never communicated DA’s plea offer to her client
• Did not communicate with the client to explain the status of his cases
• Cheryl never contacted the client’s correctional institution to schedule a telephone call or visit with the client

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Cheryl by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.  

FYI: As one would suspect, Cheryl and fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on her self-serving website at www.cmgillawcom. Apparently, she decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that she would not limit her future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. January 2023), Cheryl practices her so-called brand of law with the Law Office of Cheryl Marie Gill at 425 State Street in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
