Attorney Mitchel Tarter of Morristown, NJ; ethical troll

The state of New Jersey presented Mitchel Tarter with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the New York School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Mitch guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

FYI: This isn’t Mitch’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Failed to protect client’s interests on termination of the representation
  • Improperly shared legal fees with a nonlawyer
  • Gave giving something of value to a person for recommending the lawyer’s services, other than by advertising
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Mitch!)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Mitch by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2022), Mitch practices his so-called brand of law with Schwartz Simon Edelstein Celso & Kessler LLC at 44 Whippany Road in Morristown, New Jersey.
