Former Judge Candelario Gonzales of the Philippines; moronic slacker

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Candelario V. Gonzales with a law license in 1994

The Committee on Bar Discipline found Candy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a Branch 45, Regional Trial Court Judge in Bais City, Negros Oriental.

  • Engaged in gross misconduct
  • Repeatedly failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Made Untruthful Statements in his Certificates of Service and Docket Inventory
  • Engaged in gross dereliction of duty
  • Engaged in gross inefficiency
  • Engaged in gross incompetence (moron)
  • Engaged in gross dishonesty
  • Failed to explain why his salaries and allowances should not be withheld for his failure to decide 211 cases submitted for decision
  • Failed to explain why he failed to resolve 71 cases with pending incidents or motions

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, Candy was tossed off the bench and all benefits due to him were ordered forfeited, except accrued leave benefits.

As we speak (ca. December 2022), it is rumored that Candy has applied for a job as a janitor at the Walmart Supercenter Store in Bais City, Negros Oriental, Philippines.
