Attorney Soon Ahn of Chicago, IL; ethical troll

The state of Illinois presented Soon Mo Ahn with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from St. Louis University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Commission found Soon guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Refused to withdraw his appearance in a client's dissolution of marriage case after the client's relative, who had been authorized as the client's attorney-in-fact, terminated his representation
  • Filed frivolous pleadings and acted dishonestly to benefit him in the matter dissolution matter
  • Represented a client despite a conflict of interest
  • Acted dishonestly to benefit a third person in the transfer of a condominium via a quitclaim deed

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Soon by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2022), Soon practices his so-called brand of law with S M Ahn & Associates in Chicago, Illinois.
