Attorney Bruce Willey of Cedar Rapids, IA; repeat offender

The state of Iowa presented Bruce Willey with a law license in 1900 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Bruce guilty of the following misconduct.

• Secured a $200,000 loan for a company that he and a client co-owned, the repayment of which that client personally guaranteed
• Entered into a business transaction with a second client without disclosing the first client's financial liabilities and without obtaining the second client's informed consent
• Misrepresented his ownership interest in the company that was to receive the loan
• Withheld material details about the purpose of the loan

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Bruce by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Bruce fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.willeylaw.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.
