Attorney Anthony Johnson of Atlanta, GA: ethical troll

The State of Georgia presented Anthony O. Van Johnson with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Georgia State Bar found Tony guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to notify clients of receipt of settlement funds
  • Failed to deliver to his client and to his client’s medical-care providers the funds they were entitled to
  • Rather than pay his client and care providers funds they were lawfully entitled to receive, Tony paid himself $3,000
  • Despite his client’s making numerous requests for his portion of the settlement funds, Tony failed to act accordingly
  • Rather than pay funds owing to his client and care providers, Tony paid himself $3,000 and transferred the remaining settlement funds into his law firm’s operating account
  • In responding to client requests to be paid, Tony ignored most of the pleas and when he did respond her provided the client with inaccurate information
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Failed to advise client about status of matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Tony fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.triallawyerusa.us.  Apparently, he decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. November 2022), Tony practices his so-called brand of law with Anthony Overton Van Johnson & Associates at 1050 Crown Pointe Parkway in Atlanta, Georgia.
