Attorney Edward Vargas of Las Vegas; slacker, repeat offender

The state of Nevada presented Edward E. Vargas with a law license in 2008 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

The Nevada Disciplinary Board found Eddie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Eddie’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Allowed non-attorneys to interview clients
• Allowed non-attorneys to sign his name on declarations
• Filed and pursued claims that were frivolous
• Sanctioned $6,500 by California Court for engaging in for engaging in frivolous conduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Eddie.

• Failed to comply with appellate court orders for filing transcript (Up yours, said Eddie!)
• Sanctioned $500 for failing to comply with appellate court order
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to act fairly to opposing party and counsel

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
