Attorney Derrick Penny of Las Vegas; thieving slacker

The state of Nevada presented Derrick S. Penny a law license in 2003 after he graduated from Florida State University School of Law.

The Nevada Disciplinary Board found Derrick guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failed to expedite client litigation
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to keep client informed of status of probate matter
• Failed to distribute proceeds from sale of decedent’s house
• Misappropriated (stole) about $150,00 in client funds and converted those funds for personal use
• Failed fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Derrick!)
• Knowingly violated duties owing to his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Derrick by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2022), Eddie practices his so-called brand of law at 547 Los Dolces Street in Las Vegas, Nevada.
