Attorney Joni Ackerman of Manhattan Beach, CA; convicted shoplifter

The state of California presented Joni Sue Ackerman with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from Case Western University School of Law located in Cleveland, Ohio.

The State Bar Court found Joni guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

As one would suspect, this is not Joni’s First Bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received a complimentary reproval for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

• Joni engaged in serial shoplifting at Nordstrom’s, located on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles
• She stole two lingerie items and one suede belt from a black skirt
• When security officers confronted her, they discovered that
• that she had been refunded $2,848.73 in one month
• Arrested by LA Police Officers and charged with grand theft shoplifting
• Subsequently, Joni pled guilty one count of shoplifting
• Failed to report her shoplifting conviction to the State Bar within 30 days as mandated by the Business and Professions Code

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Joni by gifting her with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license, monetarily sanctioned in the amount of $875.00 and assessed discipline costs of $5,820.00.

As we speak (ca. July 2022), Joni practices her so-called brand of law with the Ackerman Law Office at 1334 Park View Avenue in Manhattan Beach, California.
