Attorney James Watson of Columbus, OH; slacker, repeat offender

The state of Ohio presented James Edward Watson with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from Capitol University School of Law.

Disciplinary Counsel found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Jimmy’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to comply with mandator Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license and imposed a $600.00 monetary sanction.

Jimmy’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to advise his client that he did not carry legal malpractice insurance
• Failed to provide his client with a written contingent fee agreement
• Knowingly made false statement of material fact to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Jimmy!)
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Jimmy by the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.
