Attorney Melvin Caldwell Jr. of Salisbury, MD; ethical misfit

The state of Maryland presented Melvin Joseph Caldwell Jr. with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Mel guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate with client
• After receipt of upfront payment of fee, Mel failed to enter his appearance in his client’s case
• Failed to stay in contact with his client regarding upcoming status conference dates

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Mel by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Mel practices his so-called brand of law with Caldwell & Whitehead PA at 109 Camden Street in Salisbury, Maryland.
