Attorney Michael Anderson of West Jordan, UT; ethical troll

The State of Utah presented Michael R. Anderson with a law license in 2015 after he graduated from the University of Utah School of Law.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate with his client
• Failed to properly supervise office staff
• Posted advertisements on sham blogs created for the sole purpose of advertising
• Mikey’s blogs appeared to take content from other firm websites and attributed it to Mikey and/or his firm
• Mikey used internet marketing companies but did not give these marketing professionals instructions on the specific ethical rules that apply to
• attorney advertising or even direct them to his official website so that their marketing tactics only used his content

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Mikey fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.ascentlaw.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. January 2022), Mikey practices his brand his so-called brand of law with Ascent Law LLC at 8833 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah.
