Attorney Brett Arkuss of Providence, RI; scofflaw

The state of Texas presented Brett Newton Arkuss with a law license in 2010 after he graduated from the University of Iowa School of Law. Brett also received a license to practice in New York in 2007.

The District 9 Grievance Committee found Brett guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law in Rhode Island
  • Drafted and negotiated purchase and sale agreements, merger agreements, and engaged in a general corporate law practice despite not being lawfully entitled to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Brett by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Brett practices his brand of law with Duffy & Sweeney LTD at 321 South Main Street in Providence, Rhode Island.
