Attorney Leslie Thomas-Riggs of Alexandria, VA; slacker extraordinaire

The state of New York presented Leslie Ann Thomas-Riggs with a law license in 2016 after she graduated from the Franklin Pierce School of Law.

The Appellate Division, First Department Grievance Committee found Leslie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to finalize a client’s divorce action for 16 years
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Neglected legal matter entrusted to her

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the First Department Grievance Committee punished Leslie by gifting her with a complimentary censure.
