Attorney Marc Elias of DC; ethical dwarf

The state of North Carolina presented Julian Michael Hall with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Duke University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Julian guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Julian by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

In one matter, the 5th U.S. Circuit Curt of Appeals in New Orleans imposed sanctions on Mark and his legal team in a March 11, 2021 order. The court imposed the sanction due to Marc and his team arguing that the elimination of straight ticket voting in Texas disproportionately affected minorities.

The court went on to say that Marc’s motion to supplement the record was nearly identical to a September 29, 2020, motion he previously filed, which was denied. The court went on to say the following:

“This inexplicable failure to disclose the earlier denial of their motion violated their duty of candor to the court.”

The court subsequently ordered Marc and his firm to pay attorney fees incurred by their opponents in connection with the duplicative motion and to also pay “double costs.” The court went on to encourage Marc to review the American Bar Association model ethics rule on candor towards the courts and to complete one hour of continuing legal education on the topic.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Marc and his firm fails to disclose the misconduct set forth above on their self-serving website at www.perkinscoie.com. Apparently, they decided to conceal said relevant facts from prospective clients to prevent limiting their future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Marc practices his brand of law with Perkins Coie at 700 13th Street NW in Washington, DC.
