Attorney John Walters of Charlotte, NC; ethical troll

The state of North Carolina presented John B. Walters with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from North Carolina Central University of School of Law.

FYI: North Carolina Central University School of Law is ranked as the 168^th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to exercise sufficient thoroughness and preparation reasonably necessary for the representation of the client matter
• Failed to properly explain matter to client to allow her to make an informed, timely, and independent decision about whether to proceed against the lessee in a personal injury case prior to the statute limitations tolling
• Firm’s method of handling client files contributed to neglect to client’s file
• Client prejudiced or damaged during representation due to negligent conduct in handling client matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Johnny fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.downerlaw.com. Apparently, Johnny decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that he would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Johnny practices with Downer, Walters and Mitchener PA at 701 East Morehead Street in Charlotte, North Carolina.
