Judge Arturo Carpio of the Philippines; slacker, loser

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Arturo R. Carpio with a law license in 1962 after he graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines found Judge Carpio guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to decide election cases within the ninety-day reglementary period

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Arturo by gifting him with a complimentary Eleven Thousand Pesos (P11,000) fine and a warning that similar conduct in the future would be dealt with more severely.

It should be noted that had Judge Carpio acted in the same negligent manner as a Common Pleas Judge in Ohio or a Superior Court judge in California disciplinary charges would never have been filed against him.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Arturo continues to sit as a First Municipal Circuit Trial Court Judge in New Washington, Aklan, Philippines.
