Judge Tibing Asaali of the Philippines; slacker, loser

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Tibing A. Asaali with a law license in 1970 after he graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines found Judge Asaali guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to resolve/decide cases within six months from notice thereof
  • Failed to comply with the directives in the Memorandum even after the lapse of the six-month period granted by the Office of the Court Administrator
  • Tibing thumbed his nose at several additional warnings from the Office of the Court Administrator to resolve/decide cases within legally mandated timeframe

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Tibing by gifting him with a complimentary Forty Thousand Pesos (P40,000) fine and a stern warning that similar conduct in the future would be dealt with more severely.

It should be noted that had Judge Asaali acted in the same negligent manner as a Common Pleas Judge in Ohio or a Superior Court judge in California disciplinary charges would never have been filed against him.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Tibing continues to sit as a First Municipal Circuit Trial Court Judge in Zamboanga City, Philippines.
